Job Description
This is an exciting role for a mission-aligned Chief Financial Officer interested in being part of a social-impact brand and technology platform.
You are passionate about promoting health and happiness, in individuals and in societies, and the role digital solutions can play in amplifying access to such outcomes.
You are also excited about partnering with other CXO functions in order to lead finance and accounting initiatives across verticals, and the company at large.
Yours will be the finance and accounting voice of the brand, inspiring policy, assessing evolution opportunities with emerging technologies, leading teams, enabling compliance at all stages of product and business development, and owning communications under your function.
Seniority Level: Executive. Reports to the CEO.
Employment: (Founding) Member, meaning that you will be the first, with or after the CEO, to manage this role, and will be responsible for building infrastructure from the ground up.

Job Duties and Responsibilities (including but not limited to)
Define the business’ financial strategy.
Build core financial processes as well as lay the groundwork for building and scaling the Company’s finance and accounting organization.
Build a finance and accounting organization with best-in-class data privacy, regulation, and risk management in mind.
Advise business and product teams on finance and accounting matters regarding current and future products, new business lines, domestic and international expansion.
Advise on and actively manage compliance, employment and contract matters.
Advise on and actively manage all tax matters, including time-sensitive tax credits.
Advise on and actively manage bookkeeping strategies and processes.
Advise on and actively manage finance and accounting software.
Advise on and actively manage company bank accounts, credit cards, financial vehicles and assets.
Advise on and actively manage company securities.
Advise on, actively manage, and stay up to date with the evolving regulatory landscape.
Manage any other financial needs that arise across internal, regulatory, and customer-facing lines of business.
Responsibilities in detail (including but not limited to)
Multi-vertical finance and accounting strategy, implementation, and filings inclusive of all finance and accounting needs of the business, including but not limited to:
Business entity strategy, management, filings, and compliance; general finance and accounting governance;
Work with General Counsel on business tax strategy, management, filings, and compliance; optimization (capitalizing on the equity advantages and tax credits of emerging growth businesses);
Work with General Counsel on financing vehicles (convertible notes, SAFEs, etc), terms sheets, valuations, tax implications, financial risk and compliance; securities management;
Manage company Payroll, work with General Counsel on employee contracts and compensation
Partnering with other CXO functions in order to lead finance and accounting initiatives across verticals, and the company at large.
File and manage all required finance-related company and personnel registrations and licenses.
Skills and Abilities
Ability to manage the responsibilities of the role, including the management and oversight of in-house staff, vendors and other third-parties, and cooperation with the Board.

Education and Experience
Practicing finance and accounting professional with 15+ years of experience in an accounting firm and/or in-house corporate finance and accounting.
Experience with securities, financing instruments, taxes, payroll, corporate accounting, bookkeeping.
Experience with technology-based financial monetization products and platforms preferred.
Experience with in-app currencies, or similar preferred.
Flexibility, willingness to work on a broad variety of finance and accounting matters.
High integrity, well-organized, and able to manage numerous projects simultaneously.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Licensed Certified Public Accountant.
Licensed SEC Series 7.
Additional licenses as required.
Experience with internationalization preferred.
Tech start-up experience preferred.
